"About Time," the first full length album independently released by Chicago Farmer, contains just about every emotion an album can. From track 1 to track 21, singer/ songwriter Cody Diekhoff takes you on a journey looking back at the last ten years of his life, and of the lives and world that surround him. This collection expresses his views and experience of anger, racism, loneliness, rehabilitation, tradition, poverty small town/big city struggles and finally hope. . Not only does his nitty-gritty witty voice accompany these lyrical experiences but he's backed up by an all-star cast. Matching his raw Midwestern screams and whispers is fiddle/violinist Glen Duncan (Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs) and matching his low toned martin acoustic guitar is Dave Pomeroy (Peter Frampton, Alison Krauss) on bass. Whether it's a full arrangement track of bass, violin, piano, percussion, and background singers or just a track of spoken word, this album is sure to delight and capture the feelings felt not only by Cody, but many of us in the world today. |
